Rising Star Youth Award

This award is open to residents of the Kitsap Peninsula who are 18 or younger and have shown extraordinary initiative and drive to serve their community through volunteer charitable work. In their efforts to help their community, nominees should show one or more of the following qualities: a selfless nature, ability to raise donated funds for nonprofits, strong initiative or leadership, ability to be part of a team, creativity in problem-solving, or successful results in their charitable work.

Please include with this nomination form a written statement that addresses the following areas in as much detail as possible. Please do not be deterred by the questions. Just provide the information you have. The more information you can provide, the better your nominee’s chance of receiving the award.

  1. For each organization/cause supported by the nominee in Kitsap or North Mason County, describe 

    • the type and level of participation, 

    • leadership and creative problem-solving ability,

    • the impact of the nominee’s gifts and work on the community.

  2. Description of the nominee’s work in encouraging and motivating others to get involved with and/or take leadership roles in philanthropy or volunteer work in Kitsap or North Mason County.

Additionally, we encourage you to submit letters of support from nonprofit organizations, schools, or individuals.

Make sure your nominee has never received the award before!

The deadline for nominations was Friday, January 6, 2023. 

Thank you to everyone that submitted nominations! Our events committee is reviewing all submissions and will announce the award recipients by the end of January. Save the date for the Kitsap Celebration of Philanthropy on Friday, May 19, 2023, at the Kitsap Conference Center in Bremerton.
