The 13th Annual Kitsap Great Give is almost here!

The Kitsap Great Give is a 24-hour giving event that unites our community in support of the many nonprofit organizations that make Kitsap a great place to live.

In a single day, thousands of neighbors, businesses, and friends rally together to support the local nonprofits that make Kitsap a better place for everyone. Last year, the event generated $1.45 million from 3,233 donors through 7,467 gifts to support 354 local nonprofit organizations.

Presented by the Kitsap Community Foundation, this annual movement of generosity has invested more than $18.5 million into our community since 2014 – proving that when we give together, we grow together.

Why Should Everyone Participate in the Kitsap Great Give?

The Kitsap Great Give is more than a fundraising event – it’s a celebration of shared generosity and community impact. Whether you give, volunteer, share the message, or encourage others to participate, you are part of something bigger: a collective effort that strengthens local nonprofits and the people they serve.

With over 340 participating nonprofit organizations, the Kitsap Great Give supports groups of all sizes and missions – from those providing essential services to our most vulnerable neighbors to those enriching our community through education, the arts, environmental stewardship, and civic engagement. Every organization plays a vital role in helping our community thrive, and every contribution – large or small – makes a meaningful difference.

Among participating organizations, many are on the frontlines addressing basic human needs, while others focus on youth development, animal welfare, environmental protection, and community enrichment. Forty-seven percent of participating nonprofits have no paid staff and rely entirely on volunteers. Additionally, one in three gifts supports organizations addressing basic needs, making this event a critical source of funding for essential services across our region.

Even if you don’t consider yourself a “donor,” you can still be a champion for local nonprofits. How the Kitsap Great Give Amplifies Impact

Thanks to the generosity of sponsors, every donor’s contribution goes even further. Sponsors not only help underwrite event costs but also provide additional funds for incentive challenges and bonus prizes that amplify the impact of each gift.

The Kitsap Great Give is also one of the most efficient ways to give. The cost to raise a dollar is just $0.12, far below the average for special fundraising events, ensuring more funds go directly to the nonprofits doing vital work in our community.

For more than a decade, this event has brought neighbors together in a shared act of generosity. Whether you’re giving for the first time or continuing a long-standing tradition, your participation helps make Kitsap a more vibrant and resilient place for everyone.

So, How Exactly Does It Work?

The Kitsap Great Give is our community’s annual day of giving. For 24 hours on Tuesday, March 10 — from 12:00am to 11:59pm — anyone, from anywhere, can visit KitsapGreatGive.org to explore and support hundreds of local nonprofits participating in the event.

All participating organizations are 501(c)(3) charities based in or serving Kitsap and surrounding communities. The website makes it easy to search nonprofits by mission, location, size, leadership demographics, and more, helping donors discover causes they care about and give to multiple organizations in one simple transaction.

The minimum donation is $10, with no maximum, and all gifts are tax-deductible as allowed by law. Best of all, participation is completely free for nonprofits.

Early Giving begins March 1, allowing supporters to contribute ahead of the big day. Donors may also send a donation check to the Kitsap Community Foundation (made out to Kitsap Community Foundation): PO Box 3670, Silverdale, WA 98383. Include the nonprofit name you'd like to give to on the check. Should a donor wish to make a gift of stock, they can call (360) 698-3622. Kitsap Community Foundation will process the donation right away. On March 10, everyone can follow real-time progress through the online event leaderboards, celebrating the collective generosity of our community.
