Kitsap Community Foundation Board
Announces Appointment of Rob Schneidler
as New Executive Director
Press Release Announcement
February 4, 2006
Don Poggi, Chair of the Kitsap Community Foundation, announced that Rob Schneidler has been named the new Executive Director of the Kitsap Community Foundation. Schneidler is currently the Director of Development for the Admiral Theatre Foundation, a position he has held since 2001.
“We interviewed several excellent candidates but Rob’s strong executive experience, history of community involvement and knowledge of Kitsap County made him an ideal choice”, noted Poggi.
In 1990, Schneidler was President of the Board of Directors for the Admiral Theatre and helped lead the capital fund campaign that raised more than $4 million to restore the historic Admiral Theatre.
Today, the Admiral is considered one of Kitsap County’s most popular cultural venues. In 1985, Schneidler oversaw the construction of the $750,000 Olympic Peninsula Kidney Center, which today provides access to local dialysis services and treatment. Since then, he has served on the Center’s Board of Directors and as its Chairman for several years.
“I am honored to have the opportunity to work with the Kitsap Community Foundation and its Board to continue its mission to create a lasting legacy of giving to benefit Kitsap County and its residents”,
Schneidler stated.
Ruth Enderle, Executive Director of the Admiral Theatre, has known Schneidler since 1991 and was part of the original group that worked to save the Admiral Theatre. “Rob has been quietly involved in so many community efforts”, Enderle said. “The Admiral is losing a wonderful, dedicated leader and supporter but we are delighted he is joining such a worthwhile organization like the Kitsap Community Foundation."
Schneidler will transition from the Admiral Theatre to the Kitsap Community Foundation during the month of February and be on-board at KCF by the first of March.
Schneidler has been a resident of Kitsap County for 30 years and currently resides in Silverdale with his wife, Sharon. After receiving an undergraduate degree from Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island and serving as an Officer in the United States Marine Corps, he earned an MBA from the University of Washington in 1976.
In 1996, he received the Thunderbird Award for community service from the Bremerton Chamber and the prestigious Hyas Tyee Award in 1999. He is currently a member of the Kiwanis Club of Bremerton where he has served as a board member and officer.
